James Irwin’s first and only flight to the moon was on Apollo 15 in which he piloted the lunar module. During the mission, Irwin walked around the moon’s Hadley Rille and Apennine Mountains collecting rocks with Scott.
Irwin left NASA after his Apollo 15 mission to become a preacher and formed his own religious organisation called the 'High Flint Foundation' in Colorado. Irwin later died of a heart attack in 1991.
