Following his work at NASA, Duke retired and pursued several business opportunities. He founded the Duke Investments and Charlie Duke Enterprises firms before becoming the president of the Duke Ministry for Christ.
Charles Duke was a retired brigadier general in the US Air Force when he joined NASA in 1966. During Apollo 16, Duke and Young deployed a cosmic ray detector and an ultraviolet camera on the lunar surface.
