1. Ancient Roman Oil Lamps, 1st-5th century AD
Ancient Rome, 2nd-3rd century AD.  Redware oil lamp depicting a Legionnaire / soldier standing wearing a crested helmet and holding a spear and shield. Rare workshop signature COPPI-RES on base.  5 1/8" (12.9cm) long.
2. Ancient Roman Oil Lamps, 1st-5th century AD.

Ancient Rome, 1st-2nd century AD. Redware oil lamp with a theatre mask! Mouldmade, central disk, with fill holes to either side of the mask, recessed within a tall border which runs along the spout to the wick hole. Outward sloping shoulders with two raised knobs. On base, maker s mark OCTAVI within rings. 4 (102 mm) long.

Roman pottery oil lamp. 1st-2nd century AD. Discus-type lamp decorated with the bust of a god, probably Zeus, in profile. Striking detail and lovely earthen patina. Measures 102 mm (4 inches).

Large Roman pottery oil lamp. 2nd-3rd century AD. Discus-type with heart-shaped spout. Decorated with a medallion, hunter attacking a boar. 101 mm (4 1/4 inches).
