10. BYZANTINE SILVER BUCKLE
FIRST HALF OF VII century A.D.
Cast in block. Solid crown-shaped plate with small triangular lug at the top.  Laterally elongated loop with deep recess to take the pin. Wide bevel along the perimeter. Tongue  decorated with collar-set yellow cabochon glass. Two short rods at the rear. Approx: L. 1.8”(4.6cm).


11. BYZANTINE SILVER BUCKLE
VI century A.D.
With a solid cast oval loop and  hooked tongue. Both elements hinged to an oval plate which is folded around the loop forming the back plate and secured to the front with three rivets. Hinge section decorated with parallel grooves forming a triangle Approx: L 1.8" ( 4.8 cm).


12.  FRANKISH GOLD AND SILVER BUCKLE
FIRST HALF OF V century A.D.
Silver oval loop and tongue are solid cast. Loop is tapering towards the plate, tongue has square garnet inlay set in gold.  Silver plate folded around the loop, secured by rivets. Gold front plate with triangular settings for seven cloisonne garnet inlays and ribbed wire perimeter.
Approx: L. 1.3" (3.2cm).


13.  BYZANTINE BRONZE BUCKLE
VIII century A.D.
Kidney-shaped loop. Short wide tongue with cubical knob; both hinged to a openwork plate. Two perforated lugs at the rear. Appro: L. 2.6”(6.5 cm).


14.  BYZANTINE BRONZE BUCKLE
VIII century A.D.
Kidney-shaped loop; short wide tongue with flat knob both hinged to an open-work plate. Two perforated lugs at the rear. 2.6”(6.8cm).


15.  BYZANTINE BRONZE BUCKLE
VIII century A.D.
Oval-shaped loop. Short tongue with flat knob and dot-and-circle indentation; both hinged to an openwork plate decorated with dot-and-circle indentation. Two perforated lugs at the rear. Approx: L. 2.6”(6.5 cm).


16.   BYZANTINE BRONZE BUCKLE
SECOND HALF OF VIII century A.D.
Kidney-shaped loop. Short tongue with flat knob. Both hinged to a triangular plate decorated with stylized floral relief . Approx: L. 2.3”(6.0cm).
