The MG Maestro, proved to be another reliable car and I had it for just over 2-3 years, the only problem I did have with it was the heating system. I ended up taking it to a leyland dealership wherby they ripped out the whole dash, (or so they said...?) When I had the vehicle returned to me, the problem was still there, with no internal heating, my suspicion suggested the offending heater fan was in back to front and this whole exercise proved an expensive waste of time. (That is if they had done anything with it in the first place)  Another reason for doing one's own repairs, at least one knows what to expect and to what costs. A year or two later; while I was in Crete, it was parked up outside my residence, (UK) and was vandalised, they ripped off all the skirting and outside trim. I believe I knew who the culprits were, so it left a very bitter taste in one's mouth... and same oh, same oh, feedback, noone saw anything....weird that? It did start to let me down a few times during the time I was on the teaching circuit. I eventually ended up having the head reskimmed again trusting in a garage to do the job right. I entrusted it to a garage that suggested they had worked for BMW and very knowledgable of BMWs and that was my first mistake! Believing them... They checked for head pressure. I also wondered if I had received the correct diagnosis from the garage, it was questionable, as  my gut was telling me it was something to do with bleeding the system due to an airlock... I did eventually find a techniques to allow to deal with the problems that followed ...

I overcame the starting of the vehicle as long as it was started daily. I did end up giving the vehicle away to a friend in desperate need of a vehicle with knowledge to what was wrong with it, as I managed to get hold of another vehicle.
I later found out that the 'friend', allowed neighbours kids to vandalise it so he could claim on the insurance.... I was devastated and he is no longer a member of my friend circle. (the list is deminishing, a good cull every so often it seems...I don't stand fools gladly).
