I have the Later model that provides the black surround so you don't see the yellow as indicated as in the 1st image:

I did have a few problems getting these to work and gave up on them. However; a few weeks later I tried both again and they did come to life, they worked, not sure how why or what, weird - alternative headphones worked with wired plug jack direct to the phone accessary connection....again very weird.
