Prices can vary from varied retailers and specifications so, check the sellers description carefully before purchasing. Prices from £217 - £340 based on memory expansion and battery capacity. (2025 phone)
It is best if the retailer orders it directly from Oukitel as you will find it comes complete and is authentic as these phones go - software can vary based on the batch - the Bumble Bee software bootup is mainly a promotional selling gimmick, rather than a legitimate theme boot up screen from what I can see. The phone is from China, so copyright may have something to do with this (in the West at least). Some software included may depend on their date of manufacture and what was available at the time for the phone, some Apps may be deleted, discontinued or non functioning based on software updates. This is and can be normal when purchasing a new mobile.
My Review
It can be a learning curve for those coming from IOS (Apple) to Android, having to recharge within just one day for your old phone. The Android, on the other hand, recharging is after three to five days and more with standby on its 10,000mAh Li-Po battery. As Sim Cards go, really depends on your network service provider, If one is transferring a sim card with your old mobile number, to the new phone, the sim itself will work as normal on the same network using your old number. (Note: you may want to update your sim card regardless, as price packages and benefits change over time as does 2G to 5G Bands. Personally, as packages go, I prefer using; (as I have always done), 'pre-pay' as this system for me, is easier to control than the contracts and time limits.
It is obvious some IOS Apps will not function on Android and vice-versa, that is the nature of the beast in terms of changing manufacturers and phones.
If you like your music, like me, you may want to transfer your music style onto your new phone - To transfer Audio Music, one does need to have a music player app on your phone, this one does come with one; however; I found it was limited and sometimes these may not function at all, as with mine. These apps can vary from designer or author and therefore one does need to research carefully as these can either be free, (usually with many ads) or cost you financially from around £1 to £10. Unfortunately, if free or cheap, many introduce malicious adware to your mobile causing the phone to malfunction. i.e. you may find unwanted multiple ads, that can cause cascades, freeze or they introduce an ad-virus, either way it is not good. Ask me how I know! I did have to use, within my settings (once I managed to get into it), to reset the phone (WP60) and I managed to run the built-in Antivirus software to clean the phone, before starting the setting up process again to reinstall my preferred apps, after a thorough research of Apps. (You want non-third party apps, where possible). The phone does come with basic apps and therefore you will not lose the original apps that came on your phone, from what I could see. Be careful with google play store and other app stores as this is where I downloaded the adware, searching for the right Apps. Good judgement helps, familiarity and luck!
It can prove frustrating and it did take me a few days of trial and error in setting up my phone, in some ways it allows you the time to become familiar with your new phone and therefore this helps you to eventually set up your phone to the way you want it. I must warn those that are not so tech-savvy to seek some help, as it may be required, or at least it will allow you the time to plod through the learning curve. You should be able to receive and make calls as normal during this process of discovery. Once familiar with the functionality of your new phone it should become plain sailing...
Caution: When charging, I did drop my 'rugged' phone onto my tower computer by accident and it did slightly damage the phone, it caused a small dent under the on/off fingerprint button on the side, within the metal, what can I say, tight lipped, that is life! So, lesson learnt, don't have accidents, abuse it or take it for granted, when it comes to checking out the toughness of your phone, I will no doubt, be getting a leather type case for mine at some point in time as an added feature.
Over all, there are better phone specs out there but this isn't bad compared to mainstream and you may even be put off from this review. Don't be! The problems are normal with any new mobile phone any model, any make, some things can be beyond our control, but I was drawn to this particular phone and I liked this one, the looks and when all set up, the functionality, the price is much cheaper than the up until now other mainstream phones.
One must also ask, what do the mainstream phones really offer the customer today? In terms of benefits and functionality compared to the Oukitel WP60 or any other cheaper make? One can only say, nothing really, they have only shown me that manufacturers incorporate a 'time kill switch', for the battery or programming, they are three and four times overpriced and their customer service can be questionable. Commercially aiming for persistent recycled customers and profit.
So far, I am pleased with this purchase of the Oukitel WP60, now that I am familiar with it, it's big, my network reception has improved greatly, I can receive incoming and provide outgoing calls, functions can be seen clearly, (even for those with failing eyesight if that, is a familiar experience to you), I can add appropriate Apps that once found; are functional and appropriate to my needs and the price was acceptable at the time of purchase.
I am now having to cook beans on toast or have chip butties to pay for this phone in this economic climate and political mismanagement.
