... designed by R. Sandri of Italy and produced for ESA by Lucreation, Netherlands. They show an electric guitar, bearing a Union flag, with its lead originating from the International Space Station. The ten stars are grouped in a four and a six, representing Tim’s membership of Expedition 46. It bears the ESA logo and the hashtag #spacerocks with Tim’s Twitter name
Inspired by Tim Peake’s mission, so much so that co-designer Tim Gagnon created an unofficial commemorative patch to celebrate the flight

CNES approached women designers to create the mission logo. Artist Virginie Enlart was chosen. She used a symbolic combination of imagery, starting with the Andromeda constellation itself and using the chains which bound the princess to a rock (from which she was freed by Perseus) as an echo to the DNA chain.
