We can only write about what we know; to make it convincing enough for individuals to relate to it, as many will see a fake and call it out when they see it. Interpretation is the key towards the truth and can be drawn from experiences direct or indirectly, Sometimes the situation can become a real-life parse. What people don't see is the web of lies and deceit, by those that have plenty of time on their hands, such as an ex-acquaintance, girlfriend and so on.  They can become jealous or are seeking some revenge for the mistakes they had made, even though honesty and both being single at the time was at the forefront of their acquaintance at the time, before parting to their separate ways.

New commitments can be taken up at a later date. However revenge can raise it's ugly head and can come in many disguises. One in particular can be the spreading of rumours, others such as laying down breadcrumbs or paper trails, whereby new partners will come across,  inducing doubt and anxiety . Feeling hurt and with high emotions at the time; those people experiencing an emotional state, will overlook the true evidence as their minds have been made up and by association, the paper trail can be hastily be put together to arrive at the wrong interpretation and conclusion. Sometimes individuals can jump the gun and perceive these pieces of information to  being correct at the time, when it is far from the truth, but one can know sometimes,  it is just easier to walk away, as truth can  become so complicated, it can  grey out the lines or has  clouded the point the strange order of events that would take forever and a day to explain in terms of being right or wrong or both and then to convince the current partner enough to see it for what it is.    In this case, it is all down to one's perspective and timelines the relationship was a past event. The problem now is, will one's partner trust you?

What can make this worse, is that whilst one is being accused of a potential adultery and has been loyal, the other one is actually having the affair, keeping it quiet within the shadows. It may explain the coldness within the marriage. So this has become a double whammy! Were these two right for each other in the first place.... ?

The poem has dragged in some of the elements pulled together and has depicted a parse, however with a poignant thought at the end.
