1. 'Southern Variant' Stephen Penny. Silver, 0.99 grams; 17.59 mm. Southern variant, +STEFAN REX, crowned and diademed bust right, holding sceptre in right hand, with a chain of annulets on king's neck. Reverse: Voided cross moline with annulet in centre. SANSONI ON ANT, Moneyer Sanson at Southampton. S 1295; M 207-212; N 905 - described as Very Rare. Recorded with the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University as: EMC 2005.TBA. Good Very Fine/Very Fine, better than scanned.
2. Stephen 'Cross Moline' Penny. Silver, 1.10 grams; 19.52 mm. +ST[IEF]NE: [RE], crowned and diademed bust right, holding sceptre in right hand. R. Cross moline with fleur in angles, annulet at the end of each cross-end. RODBERT: ON: L[VN]; Rodbert at London. N 873; BMC i; M 3-42; S 1278. Good Very Fine for a Stephen on a beautifully chocolate toned flan.
