William IV 1830-1837 AD
Their was only one type of Shilling struck for William IV they were struck from 1834 to 1837 (proofs were also struck in 1831). The right facing bust was designed by William Wyon but based on a model by Sir Francis Chantrey) the obverse inscription reads "GULIELMUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:". The reverse of the coin reads "ONE SHILLING" in the middle surrounded by a wreath. Their is a crown above and the date is below. William IVs Shillings were struck in .925 fine silver, the diameter was 23 millimetres and weighed approximately 5.65 grams
