Penny, Two-line type, North West mint, Othelric moneyer, retrograde obverse legend with small cross pattée at centre, rev. moneyer name in two lines, three crosses through centre, a rosette above and below name
The moneyer Othelric has recorded coins with blundered legends, in this instance the moneyers name is normal and clear but the obverse has retrograde lettering. This interesting retrograde variety can also be seen on coins from this period by other moneyers such as Wulfgar.
