Title: NASA's MMS Captures Magnetic Reconnection in Action (720p).mp4 Published on: YouTube Code: Duration:
NASA’s Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission launched aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket this evening at 10:44 p.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Mission managers are awaiting receipt of data indicating successful deployment of all four spacecraft, which should occur at approximately 12:29 a.m. EDT on March 13. MMS is dedicated to the study of magnetic reconnection, a universal process where magnetic fields connect and disconnect, explosively releasing energy.
