Neva Aviation AirQuadOne
The AirQuadOne is, at its name suggest, a quad that can fly. It's fully electric and has been designed to carry loads up to 100kg while weighing just 500kg itself. The fully electric version will be able to fly up to 30 minutes on a single charge, while a planned hybrid version should extend that to 60 minutes. Neva sees the AirQuadOne being used for transport and security force applications, as well as being able to lift heavy loads without the need for a human pilot.

Neva is now working with regulators and pilots to seek light aircraft certification within the USA(FAA) and EU (EASA) for the first users. Neva AirQuad One will have 24/7 traffic management support when flying, with an emergency satcom connection.
Neva Aerospace is committed to developing sustainable solutions and AirQuad One will be manufactured using recycled carbon.

Underlying technology:
AirQuad One’s power and endurance are made possible by the technology Neva Aerospace has conceived and developed. Neva’s static thrust electric turbofans (ETFs) will provide for manned and unmanned vehicles with payload capabilities up to 100Kg.
A hybrid version of AirQuad One will,we anticipate, be able to provide flight time around 60 minutes, based on current battery technology.
The team continues research & development in the UK and in Germany to achieve the expected specifications.
Neva’s static thrust and semi-dynamic electric turbofans (ETFs) are designed to optimise the Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) that is a pre-requisite for the use of UAVs and personal aircraft in crowded industrial and urban skies. Unlike a standard electric ducted fan (EDF), a Neva electric turbofan (ETF) has a specifically calculated shaped inner shroud.
VTOL and smooth transition to linear flight. Its electric turbofan possesses a specifically calculated shaped inner shroud, which makes it more advanced than standard electric ducted fans.

The flying quad's 100+kg battery pack is expected to be compatible with electric car's recharging stations through a direct wire connection, induction, or even a battery pack switch.

Through the use of their current battery technology, Neva Aerospace is also developing a hybrid version of the AirQuadOne that would increase its flight time to 60 minutes. "The next step for us will be ensuring redundancy in flight controls and energy sources", says Brotherton-Ratcliffe.
