Chapter Six
Penal Colony
Region
Region
When I sat and faced a European World
My hands and feet were tied,
I couldn't walk or ride a bike
Or speak out loud for a ride.

My country had changed it shape
It seemed, it was bloated and so bruised...
The politicians have asset stripped
The inner parts of its soul.

I looked around and recognised not,
The people from foreign lands.
My brothers and sisters, seemed no more,
But strangers in my land...

I took myself to the internet
To see if there were those I knew...
I explored and talked to those,
Who shared my personal points of view?

The Knights of old with armour on,
Were prepared to fight the beast!
The European Union, the greater State!
With no democracy, only real estate...

The Bureaucracy and red, red tape,
The pen pushers of empires built!
Corruption where money was in the hilt,
Power crazed leaders of the elite!

Were destroying my home and were near complete!
Until the opportunity presented itself,
Challenged the chains, the padlocks as well!
The grenades and mines
And the blogs did tell...

The story of the European Union, as read.
Warnings were heard, blanket models did see
And opened the eyes once more for free!
The true theatre behind the mist and smoke...

The penetration of the truth,
For all to know!
The day had come to slay the beast
The swords were drawn from our leather sheaths...

All over the land the rebellion began,
The thrust of paper into the heart of 'power'!
Morning came the result were clear,
Our land was ours, once more and joyful tears...

Near half our brothers and sisters said yes to all,
The battle had split the frail loyalties, are no more!
The patriots had won with swords raised high...
A salute to the winners and the joy in our stride!

The impossible, had happened, with the thrust of our blades!
We had killed the dragon on our shores today...
The repercussions, can be seen and heard.
The dragons take flight, like shocked birds to the heavens, Destroyed and dazed towards oblivion...

As the tribes gain confidence and takes up arms,
We had won the battle and the war had just begun!
The United Kingdom, our Knights today, had won!
