1. Light coinage (c.780?-792), Canterbury - Hammered Silver
Obv. OFFA REX in two lunettes divided by a line of pellets with a cross at each end, R. EHE LNOT in two lines divided by a solid line with an ornament at each end, moneyer Ethelnoth, 1.24g (S.904, N.286). Surface porosity and slight discolouration to the obverse, but well struck and without problems, good very fine

2.  VERY RARE 'Floriate Cross' Offa Penny. Silver, 1.07 grams; 16.52 mm. Light coinage, South-eastern mints, circa 765 - 792 A.D. King's name across field obverse on a small flan without portrait. Obverse: OFFA REX in two lines divided by a beaded line with forked or crossed ends. Reverse. WINOTH in the angles of a floriate cross with a lozenge centre containing a flower of eight petals. Moneyer: Winoth at London.757 - 879 A.D. N 288; CEB 83; S 904 variant. Recorded with the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University as: EMC 2007.0072. Found Grimsby 2007. Very Fine. This type is catagorised in North as Very Rare.

Only one other similar coin recorded with the Medieval Coin Corpus (EMC) at the Fitzwilliam Museum, and only three coins in the Sylloge of Coins (SCBI) of the British Isles: One in the Ashmoleon Museum; one in the Fitzwilliam Museum; and the other in the Mack collection.
