    Bold portrait and legends, bright tone with one dark patch

     Obv. +CNVT REX ANGLOR, rev. ELPINE M L. Nearly extremely fine and rare.

4.  Short Cross type, Shaftesbury - Hammered Silver
     Moneyer Aegelric, rev. + GELRIC.ON.SCE , 1.10g. Deeply toned and approaching   
     good very fine, a pleasing example.

5. Rare Cnut 'Thetford/Ealdred' Long Cross Viking Penny
Silver, 1.06 grams, 19.15 mm. Scandinavian Issue Long Cross type; circa 1019 AD. Obverse: crowned bust left with legend +CNVT REX ANGLORVM and commencing at six o'clock. Reverse: long cross over quatrefoil dividing legend +EA LDR EDM-O DEOD for the moneyer Ealdred at the mint of Thetford. One example (from different dies) is listed in the Early Medieval Corpus, number 1009.0671. S.-; N. 796. Extremely rare, the mint not listed in North for this issue. Unusual placing of the obverse legend. Good extremely fine, as struck.
