William IV ruled between 1830-1837. William IV was the third son of George III and the last King of the House of Hanover. He succeeded his younger brother George IV to the throne. He brought forward many changes during his rule including child labour restrictions and the abolishment of slavery throughout the British Empire. William IV had ten illegitimate children but only two legitimate children, Princess's Charlotte and Elizabeth, who both died during their infancy. He was then succeeded by his next surviving heir his niece, Queen Victoria,in 1837.
