There are a number of fuse box locations in the E39.
1. In the glove compartment  (Main)
2. In the Boot (trunk) (Main)
3. Under the driver's seat (o/s uk right or driverside - note: chair may need to be taken out)
    Some models may have this fuse box within the door sill or under thefoot door trim - check first).
4. Under Bonnet (hood) n/s uk left or passenger side), on firewall under environmental filters. (see photos)
