There are a number of fuse box locations in the E39. 1. In the glove compartment (Main) 2. In the Boot (trunk) (Main) 3. Under the driver's seat (o/s uk right or driverside - note: chair may need to be taken out) Some models may have this fuse box within the door sill o runder the trim - check first) 4. Under Bonnet (hood) n/s uk left or passenger), on firewall under environmental filters.
Note: Some layout vary, so check you have the carrect card layout
