Mazda RX8 Chapters

Be prepared for a puncture or tyre deflation during the lifetime of driving your RX8. By carrying a kit like The Ring Automotive Tyre Repair Kit will prepair you for that eventuality. The RX8 does not normally come with a spare tyre, this is only optional when the car is new from a main Mazda dealership and can be expensive, however a kit is normally provided like the one illustrated on the top right of this page. Unfortunately with secondhand cars, previous owners or traders take them out and sell them as a seperate item to make extra cash. If you find one in your boot of an RX8, you are lucky, more so if it is stocked up ready for an emergency.

I shopped around to see if there were any other kits small enough and were cheaper and found a couple. This particular kit was sold by Maplin, the electronic retailers on the highstreet for a competitive price of 15.00, however this is part of their clearance stock sale (You can check via the internet and purchase via a visit to the shop if they need to bring it from another branch). This I thought was a good price as online eBay and Amazon's prices ranged from £25 - £34. The key is to look for good deals within, (in my case) the January sales.

The Kit contains:

- Analogue 12 Volt Air compressor with gauge, which reads in PSI, Bar and Kg/cm16
- Depth gauge which reads from 0-25mm
- Analogue tyre pressure gauge which reads in PSI and Bar
- 400ml Tyre sealant (enough for one punctured tyre) - Fixes and inflates a tyre in five to 10 minutes
- Handy cleaning wipes and Latex gloves
- This handy kit is all supplied in a handy zip up storage bag which is ideal to keep in the boot in case of emergency.
This can be strapped in, at the original RX8 kit location on the O/S inner wing within the bott/truck compartment.

The Emergency tyre repair kit includes a compressor that inflates tyres in under 4.5 minutes, The compressor inflates up to 35 psi with a 3m cable and adapter kit, The compressor records pressure in Psi, Bar, kpa, kg/cm2, The pack also includes a 400ml Tyre Repair Sealant, Analogue tyre pressure & depth gauge, Complete with protective gloves and cleaning wipes, All stored in a handy storage bag, No need to remove the tyre, No need to find a service station to check tyre pressure, Do not need to remove the valve core to inflate the tyre and check the pressure.
