Replacing the FSU or Hedgehog

 

Possible cause of Battery Drain  -  Note; Safety - Before commencing with Electrical Work, Disconnect Battery)

There are three Hex or torque screws a 10mm or 12mm and can be difficult to locate, extract and reinsert, I found an aerial style magnet to locate dropped screws and bluetack helped to retain the screw to the Hexdriver. Whatever works to retain them safely....

fig: Carpet section is held on by two spring clips and a screw towards the back, (Can be difficult to see). Take out the screw first and then comence with sliding the carpet strip towards you, be careful not to break the clips.
Pull carpet panel to the rear of the car carefully.

Description:

The Location of FSU in the car:  The FSU is in a very awkward position under the drivers side, (O/S or Right UK) the middle console, front.As indicated below:

Check 1. Heater, does it work? Is heat is coming out of the vents after 5-10 minutes ? If not, possible FSU fault.
          2. Can you get cold Air? Do you have refridgerant in your system? If not, get it topped up.
          3. Is your blower working, when the intensity is increased or decreased ? If not problem with blower motor.
