In order to join the British Royal Marine Commandos, one needs to undergo the longest training program for infantry in any of the Commonwealth countries and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Potential candidates need to take psychometric tests and are then interviewed by the Armed Forces Careers Office. If the interview goes well, several physical and mental examinations are run followed by several training modules. The culmination of all these courses is the commando course. Those who pass everything successfully are awarded the Green Beret, but that doesn’t mean the training stops there; in order to be considered a commando, a soldier need special permission by the training team based on overall performance.
