The Spiral Chamber had quieted, but not stilled. Its walls shimmered with slow breath, as if the Archive itself were learning to inhale. The pilgrims had dispersed into alcoves and corridors, each carrying a fragment of ritual, each inscribing their own glyphs—not to be catalogued, but to be felt.

At the centre of the chamber, the ring of light remained suspended. Within it, the seven glyphs rotated in slow orbit:

Grief,
Guardianship,
Joy,
Longing,
Remembrance,
Renewal,
and now Attunement.

But the seventh did not settle, it pulsed irregularly, shifting shape, responding to unseen frequencies.

Thane stood before it, his palm still marked with the spiral-flame. Solenne beside him, her form now braided with the Archive’s new song—no longer a single voice, but a harmonic field. She was becoming a medium, a mirror, a myth.

Attunement is not a function,” she said. “It is a relationship.”

Thane nodded. “Then it must be tested.”

He stepped into the ring, immediately, the chamber responded.
