Chapter Six
Who's Democracy?

I let go of my dreams today
And found the skies are empty...
Those dreams as a child were reachable!
I was told the skies were beyond the limit of plenty,
But today with age the dreams; I cannot see any...

With rockets going into space,
My dreams went with them.
It was fun then, the limits were, open...
But today my dream was stopped in motion.
As I look around and see my world is broken.

I let go of my dream today
And found the skies are empty...
People of influence with empty words
Controlling my thought and destiny,
I know they live to lie and influence the many...

No job, no wealth, no future it seems
If aging and alone a nightmare it brings,
My heater is off and there is so little food,
The wealthy can't see me, it is as if I'm a, ghoul!
Despised, for claiming state and as if, selling my soul...

Education they say you need more!
How many bits of paper do I need to enter the ball?
They laugh and poke fun, no they don't owe me at all...
My intellect is humble, they will just look away and ignore,
They tie me in shackles of bureaucracy and I fall to the floor...

I let go of my dreams today
And found the world empty.
There are no helping hands for those descending slow or heavily.
From the leaders and religions, we are in Hell already...
The evidence, only wars austerity and who we call the enemy...

There are many paying the price today,
As slaves, zero hour contracts, if any!
Divided to make way for ever increasing gentry...
Attitudes of the few that run what we call society.
They are here and will live the life of luxury!

On the backs of the people, their selfish opportunity!
A crumbling existence this is the true prevalently...
I let go of my dream today, this is not new.
My spirit will move on to newer horizons, when I'm due
To a more worthy landscape of greener pastures and...
Where I don't need to look for hope or perhaps people like you....
Forgive me, if I address the story portrayed in the mirror.
As for my dreams, I will reach into the skies,
Like the child I once knew, together...
