The Little Brown Bear
The Little Brown Bear
I once knew a little brown box
Hidden by some heavy rocks
One day I was told to play
And my daddy began to say
In the garden there is a box
This box was no ordinary box
For this is a home of a special friend
With special powers that will never end
Inside this box is a little bear
The softest furriest thing so rare
Around his neck a little red badge
Bearing his name that no-one could match
His name began with a capital 'D'
And worked along to a capital 'A'
From a capital 'A' to a capital 'K'
Looking again, with a capital 'I'
Right in the middle a capital 'N'
Looking so carefully a smile and a grin
With big brown eyes, and a furry face
His paws raised high awaiting an embrace
This little bear with hair so trim
This little bear, is a special bear
Needing love, hugs and care
This little bear needed a name
So daddy thought the very same
He scratched his head
And began to think
And shouted 'eureka!' After a blink.
I know, he said' we can see his name
On a little red badge that was hidden away
His name began with a capital 'D'
And worked along to a capital 'A'
From a capital 'A' to a capital 'K'
Look again with a capital 'I'
Right in the middle a capital 'N'
Something was strange with this little name
But what was missing was the very same
His little name was barely precious
Where was he found so close to Christmas?
Our little friend we cannot pretend...
He was found in a little brown box.
So he is the little brown bear called Dakin-a-box
