I look around and see the faces
The stolen glances
In crowded places

Big noses, large mouths
And long eye lashes
Fashion speeding market clashes

Expressions speak with loaded voices
To mark a mind with a salesman varnish
A 'dirty old man' looks at naked dummies

Until the silent voice of people's glances...

Shop windows with their displays
Overspill into the streets and walk away
And then suddenly! A sweet wrapper blows my way...

Then I'm distracted by a 'cat' in play,
Leaning against the wall
Smoking hash and saying 'hey!'

Until it dawns there's no payment for glances,
He walks away, quite dischanted...

Ah! A broken window
Thoughts of violence picture through my mind
And then I hear two people chime...

Caused by heat, cracked the pane...
And I then wondered, how many thought the same?

The astonishing expression and exaggerated wear
So many a word
Precise and silent...

Is the interpretation the same?

I look around and see the faces
The stolen glances
In crowded places.
