The flowing brooks
Of summer time
Ripples flow as time flows
I look into the trees
And see the sunlit trees
Brushed by the cool breeze
My heart fills
For all the joys of seeing life
All in green
And with peaceful signs
The flowing brooks
Of summer time.
It stands, stands so still
That autumn comes
And the leaves fall
And the breeze becomes cooler
The light reflects the spectrum of leaves
Upon the brook so near
So that the trickle sound
Winter is here.
The white blanket of snow
And the trees stand naked
Upon the cold long day.
Two colours outline the scene
So beautiful and yet so bleak
Upon a time the buds break through
The birds whistle and sing their tune
Water ripple, melting ice
Birds poke for food
As the sun shines through, down...
So spring comes with a welcome beat
Life begins as I turn a leaf.
The flowing brooks
Of summer time
Ripples flow
As time flows
I look into the trees
And see the sunlit trees,
The flowing brooks
Of summer time.
