Poem Title: One Day In Your Life             Date Written: 27.06.09
A shock to many all over the world, the death of Michael Jackson; but not unexpected. A controversial character, known as the King of Pop was also troubled within his private life, on a physical and psychological level. Insecurities, paranoia, to being obsessed with a 'Peter Pan' style of living. The 'Peter Pan' was also obsessed with his visual impression and underwent plastic surgery to the extreme causing physical and psychological damage to himself. Another controversial obsession surrounding him was preferring to be in the company of children; this was to prove a damaging element to his career and sent him to the courts with devastating revelations. The courts found him not guilty, however there was much speculation.
Just before his death in 2009, Michael Jackson was to have a number of return concerts and worked hard towards kick-starting his career; unfortunately it was not to be. Michael Jackson was found his dead, aged 50 on the 25 June 2009 by his doctor Conrad Murray. His death was investigated and evidence gathered proved suspicious. Michael died of propofol intoxication after suffering a respiratory arrest at his home on North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills, a neighbourhood in Los Angeles.
The Doctor Conrad Murray was later convicted in November 2011 of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to four years in prison.
To this day it is uncertain whether the death was a pack between Michael and his doctor to pay off a $500 million debt three years after his death to help to secure his family’s future.

Nevertheless; Michael Jackson's music was and still is popular world-wide today, since his death, his estate has earned over $475 million, this has gone to pay off his debt.

This poem commemorates the music and what he meant as an iconic figure of pop.
