Chapter Five
Artwork reworked by NGW
What love have I loved an empty shell.
Only to see it like a mist of reflection
One touch, one sentiment, opaque.
As it is abridged to heartbreak…
One looks for comfort, a written word.
Of guidance, an insight, a thought!
Unlike a well walked path
One; treads on quicksand and pitch, below.
What conjurer, a prayer an ideal of rich?
What face, eyes, body or coloured hair?
The morals taught at an early age, educated?
It seems an unusual explanation of bewitched!
A love, like flight of one night…
Not partnership or what’s right!
To want look’s, surface deep
A stamp, of authenticity! A label to sleep?
A broken shell, the soul exposed
Personality, character leaks, lost to play right roles
A journey everyone knows…
Sharing the crest of a wave on shallow shores
Both balancing life, company expressed, exposed…
When and what time does it stop being interesting?
The lies within commitment, marriage, a relationship digressing…
Is it so innate in human kind to exploit halation of the mind?
And the very seeds inflate a cycle, over time…
And is repeated, to continue our species decline….
