Chapter Five
When writing a poem
What does one write?
About, bees and honey?
What is wrong or right?
Should the writing be funny?
Writing of life or death should I tell?
Or love and friendship?
Of heartbreak hotel?
Music, a beat, a rhythm, a rhyme
Fortune or fame, stars of mime.
Or stars and the moon,
Fire and pain, 'moo-cows' in the orchard...
Playing silly games?
Breakups, abortions, politics, or maim.
Clowns, balloons, parties, the brain?
What should I write that be considered new?
Writer’s block Hell, what’s there to do?
To hell with it, I’m empty boohoo...
I’ll leave it today, totally to you!
