Author's Comments on this Poem:
How dark can one go, depends on your psychological outlook and environmental circumstances. One can ask the questions when one sees the world fighting each other, when there is poverty in rich countries. Some can ask what of their purpose in life. Can one change personal circumstances when everything is stacked against them? Some may want to make a deal with "the devil" to make changes, through desperation. as they cannot see a way out of their situation. Most of us know, that can come at a cost.
Another way of looking at the problem is to fight using one's faith or optimism seeing hope and knowing there is something positive to look forward to, beyond mortality.
