This offering is not a manifesto, nor a complaint; it is a reckoning. A ritual ledger drawn from decades spent in the trenches of education, employment and systemic navigation. I have worn many hats: teacher, trainer, manager, mentor as well as many others and now, ceremonial archivist. Each role has gifted me insight and each insight has left its mark.

The reflections within this essay are born not of bitterness, but of clarity. They are shaped by the slow erosion of illusions, the quiet accumulation of paper and the persistent question: what does it all mean? What is the true value of a qualification, when weighed against the machinery that governs recognition, reward and relevance?

This is not a linear argument. It is a layered address. A ceremonial cycle. A mythic reckoning with the systems that shape us and the stories we are told about merit, worth and success. It is written for those who have felt unseen despite their effort, unheard despite their wisdom and undervalued, despite their credentials.

If you find yourself somewhere in these pages, whether as a seeker, a sceptic, or a survivor; know that you are not alone. This is our ledger. And it remains so.

My Personal Introduction to Teaching: A Twenty-five Year Reckoning as a professional.

My teaching career began in the structured discipline of Cadet Training and the Territorial Army working through the ranks—environments where clarity, resilience and accountability were paramount. These early experiences shaped my approach to education, instilling a sense of purpose and a commitment to personal development that would carry through into civilian teaching roles.
