Using over 55 factors to determine a country’s PowerIndex score, the Global Firepower 2022 list ranks the most 20 powerful military nations in the world today. Of the 136 advanced and lesser developed nations included, the parameters include their geographical location, natural resource reliance, manpower and current economic health. It must be noted that nuclear capability and current political/military leadership is not taken into account. However should NOT be ignored as recently threats have been made to used such destructive means. As many will know this is only a one way journey and it threatens the whole of humanity and life on this planet.

Also, land-locked nations are not penalized for not having a standing navy. Here's a look at the 20 most powerful military nations, according to the list, as of July, 2022.

Among the findings:
There is an old saying that a country can develop only if its borders are secure. This is or should be the main reason why almost all big nations around the world spend hefty amounts on their military budget every year or as evidence today suggests; at least giving this impression. The Military strength of a nation depends upon the power of its air force, army and navy. Defence enthusiasts around the globe are also looking at the aspects of public conception through media and the effectiveness of the propaganda machine and the effective uses of this information that is not detrimental to the security of home forces. The competence of leadership through; via the political landscape and the true effectiveness of those at the top, down; is just as important.

Since the Russian and Ukraine war; it has been observed, there has been increased changes to battlefield strategies and logistics, whereby much of the conventional tools of war have become obsolete amongst the build-up of 2022 technological breakthroughs within varied fields of development.

Aspects to the effectiveness of using of tanks, to the positive use of drones and the availability of purposeful rocketry/missile assaults the list goes on.

In today's war theatres, large numbers of military soldiers do not make an army, however a combination of professional support personnel, access to the latest technology and equipment , more importantly extensive 'Training', on all aspects of military battlefield logistics and survival.
Without Leadership the soldiers are doomed from the start and therefore considered also of key importance, for moral and confidence must be paramount, arriving from competent politicians, (if one can find one) to officers on the battlefield with practical and observed experience of campaigns where possible. This and with thorough training, being the key for a successful all forces, campaign outcome.
