In order to form part of this elite air and infantry combat unit, recruits need to graduate from the U.S. Army Ranger School. This unit is renowned for its role during the wars in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, and Iraq, as well as the conflicts in Grenada and Panama. These rangers are tasked with direct action raids, special reconnaissance, site exploitation, and air attacks against hostile people that pose high-value threats around the world. The special characteristic about the Rangers is its rapid deployment formation, meaning the unit can get a ranger division up and running within 18 hours of notice warning.
