MQ-9 Reaper

The Reaper is a medium altitude long endurance aircraft with a maximum altitude of 50,000ft and a top speed of 250kts. It has a wing span of approximately 20metres and a length of nearly 11 metres.

The Reaper was designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance having the capability of ground attack added later. It is controlled by crews from Ground Control Stations.

The Reaper Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) - British Air Force Donehe aircraft is fitted with two cameras on the nose and has an advanced secure satellite communications system. It is normally armed with 2 GBU-12 500lb laser guided bombs and 4 AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.

Each Reaper can be disassembled and loaded into a container for air deployment worldwide. There are currently 5 in service with 5 more on order.

The Reaper is the only drone controlled by the Royal Air Force, the rest of the vehicles displayed on this page are British Army Drones.
