The GSG 9 is another special forces group in Germany and they are basically like highly-trained cops. They are considered to be a counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and special operations police unit. This unit was formed after the Munich Olympic bombing because, at the time, police weren’t prepared to deal with terrorist attacks and did not know what to do. The GSG is deployed when there are incidents of hostage-taking, kidnapping, terrorism, and extortion and they make sure to put an end to it.
