On purchasing my BM from the dealers In July 2014, When looking around the vehicle internally, I did notice the door window switch had one of it's buttons missing, I did search on eBay for a replacement at the time, however the price varied from the cheapest of £9.00 to £65. I unfortunately missed the £9.00 one. Over weeks I could not find one at the right price and ended up going through a salvage yard £13.00.  It worked for about two weeks and packed in, luck of the draw. Out waying the costs of return. I eventually found one on eBay at the same price of the salvage yard and purchased it. Months on and it works fine.

Shop around and compare prices as these are always on special offers, on online stores.

There are variations in the switch module,this is most likey down to possibledesign upgrades - unfortunately this particular switch is difficult to repair, it wasted many hours of trying. It is easier to replace the whole unit.
To remove the full unit, is quite simple, and one needs a 'trim priser' or a screwdriver to prise the whole unit out, (being careful to not damage the surround trim).

Note: This particular individual switch on this unit cannot be replaced as it is integral to this unit. The other switches, however can be interchanged from other compatible units.
Personally, easier to replace the whole unit.

Prise module  out of the  arm rest moulding and flip over to the left.

Note: There are 4 connectors on this unit, all with different locking configurations - detach carefully and mentally note where they fit and how they fit. These configuration may vary to/ from e39 models.

Replace with a Replacement Unit and reconnect the leads accordingly.
