Concept   BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R revealed
BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R revealed, as featured on msn 15th August 2015. Earlier this year BMW unveiled the 3.0 CSL Hommage concept at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. It was a tad disappointing.  Synops: However I love it's design.

That colour
Aside from its nasty colour, it looked awkward from all angles. But now BMW has done something that’s made it properly cool… Synops: Personally, I don't find this colour offensive for a street car I can imagine it in black, wow!
Decals
It’s given it some decals. Seriously, all cars look better in racing livery.
Synops: Some do, some don't..... depends on the model and lines, this one can work without.
BMW’s 40th anniversary
Named the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R, this concept is being launched to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BMW in North America.
Racing success
It also marks 40 years since the racing success of the BMW 3.0 CSL in 1975.
‘Extrapolated’
BMW says: “For the seamless integration of the driver into the car, the designers extrapolated the principle of driver focus beyond the geometric form of the interior.”  Right.
Head-up display
The head-up display featuring things like speed is on the driver’s helmet visor. That’s quite cool.
Light weight
Light weight is key, with a carbonfibre roll cage.
Luxury
This concept isn’t luxurious - BMW says ‘all elements in the interior are there out of absolute necessity’.
Aerodynamics
The exterior combines being a nod to the original 1975 model with concentrating on aerodynamics and driving dynamics.
Stretched body
The stretched body is framed by distinctive air deflectors, chunky wheelarches and a big rear spoiler.
Alloy wheels
Those wheels? They’re 21-inch, with a matt gold finish. Lightweight, apparently.
Adrian van Hooydonk
Senior vice president BMW Group design Adrian van Hooydonk said: “Motor racing is all about the ability of cars to mesmerise, about the unbridled joy of driving.

“And as such it represents the heartbeat of BMW. Back in 1975, as today, winning races came down to how man and machine could work together. Technical innovations have taken the effectiveness of this partnership to ever great heights. And with the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R we’re aiming to show how much closer the driver and car can grow in the future.”
Production
We’re unlikely to ever see a production version of this, but it does tease some of the technology we may see in future BMW models.
Pebble Beach
The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R will be unveiled at this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
I like the shape and innovation of this model and think there is a market for this in the United Kingdom, the Americans have the  Mustang, Europe 's equivalent.....?
